Star Group was founded in the year 1979 as an individual tuition institute by Prof. S. S. Vengsarkar, B.Tech. (Electrical Engg.) IIT- Mumbai. Prof. S. S. Vengsarkar has had a bright academic career.
He passed his SSC Board Exam with merit ranking and was ranked in the top 50 in the IIT-JEE Exam.

He has been successfully teaching Mathematics and Chemistry to students from 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, IIT-JEE and Engineering.
While he ran his own institute i.e. Star Group of Tuitions, he also taught at many other reputed coaching institutes like Agrawal Classes, Sinhal Classes, N.G.K’s Academy & IITians Pace in Mumbai.
